The Agony of a Shopkeeper...

Through this blog I am not going to discuss anything about the profit, loss or risk involved in business. Its something no one ever noticed. A punishment, person gets coz he is the owner of a shop. Leaving apart the fate of business, first i would like to tell something about the routine a shopkeeper follows..

Open the shop by 9.30 am. Clean the shop and then attend the customers. You leave the shop not before 9.00 pm. Ya it includes the lunch break of about an hour. A job for about 12 hours a day and on holiday. Even the day when shop is closed, he has got a lot of work to do. To make the accounts and keep note of credit and debits. Also keep account of inventory. Make payments for the good. This is a general routine. But its his fate he cant avoid.


I wont call it an agony either. Its the part of the job. The path to the goal you choosed. What is the actual agony then? Its a jurisdiction of society to which a shopkeeper is subjected. When ever the social systems undergoes a turmoil, a fracture, its the shopkeeper, who makes the payment for its repair. Have you ever thought who suffer when ever there is a rampage? (leave the dead apart. Mobs never ask who you are when the kill you)

Who suffers when ever there is any political band? Its the shopkeeper ofcourse. Its him whose shop is destroyed. He bears the lose of property. The mob just go, breaks in the shop and loots him. He is the one who is bitten up, when he tries to protect his shop.

When ever there is a band, government employees enjoy holiday, private companies don’t deduct your salary. Who suffers? Shopkeeper. He has to close his shop. Impacting his days sale. He dont get a salary. He earns when he sells something. Any of such activity, directly impacts his earning. You may think how much a single day band will impact a shopkeeper? I agree to a established shop it wont impact much. But what about the shops of poor people? A cobbler, a tri cycle rider? They have to face the crisis.

This the agony of a shopkeeper. Which he hadn't choose but has to suffer. A agony that can be avoided but never will be..

A Terrorist that can be SLAYED...

Through this blog I am narrating the view of a man I met in train. His views, though strange, made me think again on the policies of government. I don’t have reasons to endorse him but have no reasons to discard it either. Just don’t read it, think over it.


We condemn terrorism. Why? Coz lot of innocent people are killed. Families are subjected to pain. A lot of people are left to die at a younger age. A hell lot of responsibilities are left pending. people have to face a brutal ending.

But is terrorism alone responsible for such misfortune? If yes, then you need to make an addition in the list of terrorists. Its not a person but a system, system of mismanagement. Just think for a while how many people die daily in road accident? How many die coz of hanging wires? How many die coz of collapse of a building or a bridge? Seems strange na? But its the truth. This terrorist is continuously killing people, shoving their family to woes. It is a terrorist continuously shouting that you can slay me. I am controllable. What are you waiting for? Why don’t you take appropriate action to kill me. I am just your ignorance. I am in you. You cant controlled terrorists so easily but you can control me by just adapting few measures. Accidents are not just the outcome coz of error of drivers, its also coz of potholes, weak traffic system and corrupted officers. Building fall coz of low quality material.

Actually its true though strange. Just think over it. Can this terrorist be slayed. It is not asking us to make a law like POTA. Just a management..

Railways in Profit...

Our honourable Railway Minister has bought railway several measures those are increasing treasury of railway by a remarkable rate. But i am confused that are these measures beneficial for common men or for railways? Well let me explain it to you in detail. Measures that confused me are:

Ticket Surcharge Increased:

Booking charge per ticket has been increased. It was so minute that you didnt bother to noticed it, but became beneficial for railways. Imagine if you are paying additional 10 rs per ticket, imagine number of thickets booked per day. Multiply them and you get a magic figure. Railways in profit.

Super Fast Express:

You must be knowing that fares of super fast is more than a normal express train. He upgraded various express trains to super fast. But are they fast enough? I dont think so. Still they take same time but extra fare. Railways in profit..

New Three Tier Compartment:

Have you entered the new compartment? Now you will have extra some one to share your woes, woes given by railway. Same limited space with a extra head. Wow.. He has introduced the concept of side middle berth. Now sitting a side upper will be a dream. Limited head room you know! Getting to that side middle berth is a exercise in itself. It has also caused a problem of shuffling of seats. You apply for side lower, you have it in your ticket, but when you board the train, surprise, your new seat is upper. Wow.. They shuffled the seats. Railways in profit.

Bribe With A Receipt: Tatkal

Ya its a bribe where you are given a receipt. You book a ticket 2 moths ago and you get waiting. Coz tatkal quota is increased. Some one else pay extra amount and gets the ticket 5 days prior to journey. And you get zilch. Now look at it from the point of view of the person who buys it. When you buy a tatkal ticket you have to pay the fare from start station to end station of the train. No matter if you board the train midway. Thats alone not enough. You have to say a additional amount of 150 to 350. Wow. I mean what the HELL is this? Its again railways in profit..

The GOD, Faith and Paitents...

"Do beleive in God and he will do everything Good"

They say it. I saw it. I need not go too far for that. An incidence, you may say not too big, but sufficient for me to conclude.
This incident is not related to me directly but indirectly I was a part of it. How do you feel when your sister crys on phone, that to too often? She was appearing for her final year exams. She is a dental student. You need to treat patients for practical exams. She actually struggled to get them. She was once betrayed by her batch mate, who litrally stole her patient. How mean actually.But at the end of every practical she did it well. She got the patients and finally cleared her exam. When ever she cryed I told her to have faith in god. He will do everything fine. She was of the mentality that God wont do good to her. She cryed for more than a week. But she had some faith, though a little, in God. He did everything good for her at last. We all are happy for her now.
she belived in God, had patience, got patients and now she has became a doctor. God actually checked her patience. This incident made me belive that every thing is done for good. its only one soul that controls us, subjects us to various tests and finally give us our reward.:-)
